Are you Quarantined? Who is not. So with the global pandemic scaring us each day, economic crisis on one hand and the other hand being confined to four walls, everybody is trying not to go crazy. Let us see through the current situation from a positive perspective. Nobody wanted this to happen, and yet we all are struck in the middle of the pandemic. So let us make the most of this Quarantine and when all of this is over, we will have a darn good story to share. I really hope and pray that we all make through this safely.
Here is a tip to approach Quarantine from a different perspective.
I am not going to give any conventionally ideas like explore your hidden talent, meditate, read and spend time with the family. Let's think as if there is no box.
Go deeper inside your mind and explore yourself
How many of us question our own thoughts and actions. Why are we the way we are. Why we do think a certain way. Are we happy with our thinking? Does our thinking need updating and revision? Are we part of an outdated thinking group? When it comes to thinking, each person has their own perspective and ideas. The thinking is mostly conditioned by outside social norms, the culture and the family you grew up in. Most of our thinking needs updating and revision. How often do we do them? Mostly not at all. Just like every software which needs updating and re-installation, we are in dire need to reconsider our thinking process.
Here comes the question! What is wrong with our current thinking. Well, nothing is wrong. But just because it is working fine doesn't mean it cannot be improved.
Let's consider a few examples,
Those people brought up in a constricted on controlled environment grow out to be the person who loathes controls or even suggestions. Some people are lazy and they try to push the task to the deadline and finish it in the speck of the time (like me!). Few are crazy procrastinators and they apply this to everything they do in life and they won't realize this (again, like me!). We all need to start questioning our thoughts, our actions, beliefs, repetitive patterns and everything.
Question: why do we do certain things in a certain way. Why do we procrastinate? What to do about it. How can we change it? What else runs through our minds all the time? Daydreaming? What do our day dreams contain? Is it the same? Are you saving someone in your daydreams, or do you imagine yourself successful or is it painful or is it tragic. Change your thoughts. Monitor them.
Keep a journal. Write down everything that goes through your head on that particular day. Write everything without filtering them or judging them. Then question them. What do I have the same day dream of me talking in front of the people or sometimes pain. Am I addicted to pain? Re-analyse your core beliefs and thought patterns. There might be some places where you wanted change. Start changing. Don’t be disappointed for it will take some time to come out of this conditioning. But keep progressing. We are after all evolving species. Let us evolve everyday.
You might be surprised by what you will come to know.
